Feed Me!

I have missed church the past two Sundays due to our littlest being sick and going through a crazy sleep schedule stage. Do you know how difficult it is to live a balanced life without being fed? Sure, I've been doing my regular devotions and PWOC study at home, but that's kind of like eating the salad and skipping the entree. As a child, we grew up attending church pretty much every Sunday. When we were on vacation, or at the lake during the summer, we would go to churches that were near our location. I remember my siblings and myself putting up a huge fuss and saying, "but we're on vacation!" Did that mean we were on vacation from God also? No.

Palm Sunday is this Sunday. I remember this holiday very fondly as a child. On Palm Sunday, all of the Sunday school kids would walk up the aisle with palm branches to the front of the church singing our Palm Sunday song. Do many churches still do this, or is this more of a Lutheran tradition?
This is a very thorough and fun website for families with young children describing the events surrounding Palm Sunday and Easter. I hope that you have an enjoyable Easter holiday with family and friends, and that you are able to focus on the real meaning behind this season.

I feel that way alot, too. We teach Sunday school every other week, and between that and the occasional sickness/scheduling issue, we manage to miss quite a bit of "sanctuary time" each month!
Fortunately we also attend a home group, and I host a mom's group, so we're getting something...I truly believe God has grace for different life stages and He will meet us no matter where we are as long as we are seeking Him.
Blessings!

Wow, Shelly...you are all busy too! Thank you for the reminder that God meets us where we are. I forget that sometimes. Happy Easter to you and your family!

Oh girl. I know what you mean. With hubby deployed it's hard to get to church on a good day let alone when one is sick!
Where are you stationed?
