"New" Treasure

Last year at Christmas, I received a sewing machine and a few accessories from my Mom. I will admit, I opened it and laughed. I remember thinking, "what on earth am I going to do with this!" Since then, it has traveled from our home in Alaska to our new home in Idaho. Actually, it didn't quite make it into our new home. It has been tucked away in our storage shed in the original (and still sealed) box. In my ongoing attempt to become a crafty person, I decided that my sewing machine will be brought into our house before my parents fly in on the 16th. Since September, I have had my eye on a sewing table at our thrift store on base. The original price was set at $35, then dropped down to $30, and in December it was marked down to $20. I knew I had to have it! It needs to be sanded and restained, but that is half the fun of buying something from a thrift store in my opinion.

Wow that doesn't look like a $20 table at all, that is quite a find :)

Based on the photo, it may be a relatively rare sewing table. Take the drawers out and look at corners. If the corners are "dovetailed" look at the bottom of the table and tell me what marks are on it. I'll let you know if it's a rarity. I'm jealous - I want a table like that, too.
