Kansas City Getaway

We had so much fun in KC a few weekends ago!
Our first stop was Kaleidoscope at the Crown Center.

After spending time making some pretty awesome creations, we walked over to Under the Sea Adventure at the Crown Center.

Our next stop was Fritz's Railroad Restaurant, also located in the Crown Center, for lunch.
Our food order was placed over the phone in our booth and was delivered on a train above our heads.
Super fun!

After we ate, the kids got to meet a real-life mermaid.  Our son was completely embarrassed and wanted nothing to do with her.  He often gets shy around pretty girls!
After posing with the mermaid, we took the sky walk to Union Station.  We did a little shopping, checked out their incredible train exhibit, and posed with Albert Einstein.

After visiting Union Station, we drove into Kansas City, KS for a wild experience at T-Rex Cafe.  Our wait time was almost 1 1/2 hours.  There was plenty to do while we waited.  The kids went to Build-A-Dino, unearthed dinosaur bones, and more.  While we ate, the dinosaurs came to life and a volcano exploded.  The food was great and the portions were huge!  Next time, we'll be sharing an entree.

We had so much fun in Kansas City with the grandparents.  We can't wait to go back and try the BBQ and maybe take in a Royals-Twins game!

Summer Recap

Where did the summer go?
It seems like yesterday that the kids and I were going over our summer schedule, trying to fit in learning, vacation, play dates, and fun.
We did a lot less camping then we had planned, but we may try and sneak in one more trip before the month is over.  We had a wonderful visit with my mother-in-law in June.  The kids love spending time with her.  She brought so many neat activities for the kids.  We spent an incredible few weeks in Minnesota.  Saying "goodbye" this time was a piece of cake, knowing that we will be closer very soon.  When we were home, we started focusing in on some desirable locations where we may put our roots down in 7 years.  Who knows, maybe we'll fall in love with Omaha and want to stay there permanently instead of MN?  This week has been full of doctor and dentist appointments, a meeting with the moving company to see how much stuff they'll have to pack, school started, we had a garage sale, PWOC, and we're trying to sell 2 of our vehicles.
Things are going to get even crazier as we get closer to moving, but it's good.
