Are you critical of your spouse?
Do you think of all the things he, or she does that is ruining your relationship?
If he would only...
If she would just stop...
Why can't he learn to...
If we did it my way...
If he paid attention to me more, I would be willing to...
If she spent more time with me, then I would...
Have you taken time to examine your own heart?
Oftentimes, we expect our spouse to fill up every empty space in our heart.
What a huge undertaking for a human being! Is that even possible? How would we feel if our spouse expected us to do the same?
Today you need to do the laundry, change diapers, cook three square meals, make snacks, clean the house, pay the bills, go to work, take classes, get the kids to school and practice on time, help out with homework, work out, take time for God, and oh, make sure your spouse is 100% happy and fulfilled no matter what mood you're in, or how tired you may be. And, all of this needs to be done with a smile on your face and a song in your heart.
Sounds impossible, doesn't it?
Then why do we expect our spouses to meet our every need and not go to God first?
Do we do this out of selfishness, insecurity, is it because we demand instant gratification and affirmation?
Whatever void you are feeling in your life, give your spouse a break, and go to God first.
He will supply your every need, make you feel beautiful, love you unconditionally, listen to you, and embrace your every being. All you have to do is ask.

Wise words Ms Kathy. I miss you. =(
Not sure how wise, but it's just something that's been on my heart and is now on my blog, so I can have a reminder from time to time. I sure miss you too. Nebraska is pretty amazing, probably similar to the Springs. Minus the mountains, of course. Any chance you'd be PCSing our way in the future?
